National Small Business Week May 1 - 7

 


For more than 50 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated National Small Business Week. National Small Business Week officially recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners the 1st week in May each year. 

You might be wondering what percentage of businesses in the US are classified as a small business? A unbelievable 99% according to the US Chamber of Commerce latest Small Business Statistics.  If you are wondering about your state check this  out Small Business Statistics by State.

So I say that's definitely a reason for 99% if all small business to celebrate and observe National Small Business Week! 

You can celebrate National Small Business Week by: 

Prioritizing your purchases.

1. Shop local - from a small business in your community

2. Shop small - locate small businesses through directories WomanOwned  

Share a story about the great service you received from a small business on social media or google reviews 

Refer your friends to small businesses you frequently buy from 

As a small business owner you can: 

Share your business story, your goals and long term vision of your business this will help others to want to support you in your efforts.  

Thank your family, friends, and customers for supporting you with a customer appreciation event and handwritten thank you notes. For more ideas click here

Invest in yourself.  In order for your business to grow you need to grow your knowledge, resource connections and self-confidence. The faster you gather these tools the faster you will achieve the results you are looking for and the closer you will be to your dream business. The quickest way to accelerate your growth is to hire a coach, mentor to hold you accountable, take a class to learn a new set of skills, get your business certified to gain creditability. And if you can someone else too through making donations to organizations who help small businesses.
