U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in rankings and consumer advice, today revealed its annual rankings of the Best Diets. With an updated methodology that was developed under the guidance of more than 30 nutritionists, doctors and epidemiologists, the 2023 rankings examine 24 diets to help every person find a diet to meet their goals.

For 4 years of the 6 years the U.S. News and World Report has been publishing the results of their best diets research we have been passing the new onto you. Here's what they said.

"For the sixth consecutive year, the Mediterranean Diet takes the No. 1 spot for the Best Diet Overall, having emphasis on eating a lot of fruits, vegetables, olive oil and fish and a focus on diet quality rather than a single nutrient or food group. The Mediterranean Diet also claimed the top spot in Best Diets for Bone and Joint Health (tied at No. 1), Best Family-Friendly Diets Best Diets for Healthy Eating and Best Plant-Based Diets. DASH Diet, known for fighting high blood pressure and ability to prevent or control diabetes and support heart health, and the No. 2 Flexitarian Diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plant-based protein for the whole family."

US News and World Reports describes their method of assigning ranking in the Best Overall Diets How We Rated Eating Plans and Diets which they came to after reviewing medical journals, government reports and other resources. Editor's note: After all is said and done the best diet is the one that includes healthy food choices paired with healthy lifestyle behavior changes to help you maintain your healthy lifestyle choices for the rest of your life is the best diet plan. Research has demonstrated overall the up and down cycle of weight gain and weight loss alongside crazy dieting is the worst option for disease prevention, a healthy and happy life.

Reputable nutrition, dietitians, Certified Health Coaches, preventative medicine experts and national health organizations agree, processed foods, too much salt, artificial sweeteners and sugar should be limited, avoided whenever possible if not omitted completely along with large amounts of animal proteins. Experts across the board agree the more fruits, veggies and nuts you consume the better.

In my Health Coaching practice, I recommend most often a two-pronged approach to creating a healthy life behavior change along with diet intervention. The programs I recommend most often are One Simple Change which focuses on learning what and how to start making one small change in your health habits at a time while learning how to start moving to a more plant-based eating plan. Join us at WACKY FOR WELLNESS Facebook Group to learn how to put those healthy steps into action and SHRED10© Indiana Challenge Facebook Group to learn to incorporate the SHRED10© recommendations for the healthy lifestyle for lose weight and optimum health. The One Simple Change focus on the same principles as the Mediterranean Diet, Flexitarian Diet and the DASH Diet combined. After all you deserve to be happy and feel healthy.
