What Does International Women's Day Mean to You in 2023?

To increase awareness, honor and celebrate International Women's Day 2023, I thought it would be fun to ask our followers, and friends on Facebook and Instagram what does International Women's Day mean to you?

Here are the responses of the women in our community:

Beth North, Director of Business Development, Force 5

Activism, explanatory conversation, study, and engagement in political and legal processes are crucial to eventually closing the gaps that still exists solely due to sex. On IWD I applaud the generations of strong, smart, courageous women and their allies, who brought we women from BEING property to OWNING property. Nevertheless, we persist.

Grateful, for the opportunities in life because of the strong and courageous women who preceded us. Grateful, to have a part in moving forward women’s agency and empowerment, and opening up new opportunities for women who proceed us, so they have the opportunity to do what they want to do, and the confidence to pursue it with passion. #DFS

International Women's Day is one day each year set aside to really think about, learn and share with those around us the many obstacles' women encounter in their pursuit of equality and those women who have advance society while working silently and in public. So, let us think about it for a minute. Right now, around the world, in the U.S. and in our community many women and girls continue to suffer from discrimination rooted in gender inequality causing harm to their health and well-being. Many women and girls continue to be denied access basic human rights including but not limited to education, healthcare and freedom from assault by male family members or partners. In my lifetime while gender equality has come a long way thanks to the efforts of feminists of all shades from all walks of life however, there is still a long way to go until equality is truly achieved. IWD offers women and our supporters a chance to take stock in where we are, where we want to be and where we want to concentrate our efforts.  #womenmoveforward #C2YHWI #womenmentoringworks
